Welcome to The Old School Beauty Blogger!
Hey friends! Grab your coffee (or whatever you’re sipping on) and let’s talk. I’m thrilled to kick off this new chapter with you, sharing what I’ve loved about skincare for most of my life. It all started back when I was a teenager. I will forever remember when my stepmom introduced me to the Lancôme counter—oh, the excitement of discovering makeup and skincare and getting to take home my very first “fancy” lip color. It featured a brush applicator and the shade was called Raisin. From that moment, I was hooked.
That visit with my dad and stepmom unlocked a passion of mine that would one day turn into a career as an esthetician, makeup artist, formulator, business owner (my skincare brand was featured in a Martha Stewart magazine back in 2008), brand educator, and copywriter for beauty brands across the globe.
For 15 years, I poured my heart into my former blog, Chic & Green, focusing on eco-beauty. But now, I’m taking things in a new direction. The Old School Beauty Blogger is all about celebrating who we are, right now, and aging gracefully. Instead of chasing the latest “miracle” product to erase fine lines, I’m here to help us feel good in our own skin, at every age.
So what can you expect? Real skincare advice that’s down-to-earth and science-backed, without the fads. From keeping our skin happy with things like rosacea or milia to ingredients that actually work—without emptying your wallet. And no, I’m not here to convince you to buy a serum that costs as much as a car payment!
We’ll talk about things like:
- Why aging gracefully is the best trend ever.
- Which ingredients to embrace or avoid—especially for mature skin.
- Affordable, practical tips to keep our skin looking and feeling its best.
- What’s In It Wednesday — those posts from my old blog will be back! We will take a deep dive into the ingredients of a specific product every Wednesday
And don’t worry—this isn’t about judging anyone. If Botox or fillers are your thing, go for it! This is a space for celebrating aging however you want to, free from judgment.
So here’s to embracing the skin we’re in and feeling confident doing it. I’m thrilled to have you here, and I can’t wait to dive into this journey together.
Cheers to aging beautifully, exactly as we are!
